Interview: Leo Bonatini has 'total faith' in Wolves boss Nuno

The striker recently rejoined the club on a permanent deal after Wolves took up their option to buy him following last season's loan.

Wolves are tipped to comfortably survive in the top flight this season.

And Bonatini says Nuno 'knows everything'.

"Nuno knows exactly what to do, he's prepared everything and knows exactly how the other teams will play," Bonatini told the Express & Star.

"It's easy for us to go on the pitch and do our job.

"I have total faith in Nuno. Last season he showed to everyone that he deserves to be here, he knows what to do.

"We have 100 per cent confidence in him. He knows every player, how everyone will play, you have to have faith in him and in each other as well.

"We have a very good team, good players to help us during the season so we are happy and we're preparing."

It's understood Wolves initially elected against signing Bonatini before deciding to take his option up at the last minute, before the expiry date at the end of June.

The Brazilian said of his move: "I'm very happy! It was exactly what I wanted because I was here last season and all the guys, the staff, when I arrived it was like I was at home.

"I had the same feeling when I came back here.

"I'm happy to live again in England, it's a country I like to live in. I'm really enjoying it.

"I was in Brazil this summer doing the fitness programme that Antonio gave us so I was working hard because until the last day it happened, the last day I could come here or go to Saudi Arabia (to former club Al Hilal).

"If I was going to Saudi Arabia I needed to be 100 per cent right to stay there as well, but I was confident everything would be okay to come back to England.

"I'm happy I'm here again.

"The Premier League is the biggest championship in the world. Every player wants to play in the Premier League.

"We deserve to go there, we did a very good job last season."

Wolves beat Basel 2-1 last night in the first game of the Uhrencup thanks to goals from Rafa Mir and Diogo Jota.

They next take on Swiss league champions Young Boys on Saturday before returning home.

Bonatini is pleased with how preparations are going, but doesn't think last night's result means much.

"It was a good standard of opposition. For us it doesn't matter the result," he said.

"We here to increase ourselves and our body. I think we're on the right way, the staff knows exactly what to do.

"We're recovering well and training hard.

"It's good to prepare against good teams, I think they are feeling the same.

"They have two weeks until their season but we're at a high level, we're playing well, we're getting back the feeling of the ball.

"It's good to be back. We came to Switzerland to prepare ourselves.

"Of course for the fans they will look at the result but our legs are not 100 per cent ready to play.

"We still have a long time to prepare ourselves, the staff know what we need to do and work on.

"It's good to be here, it's nice weather, we must enjoy this weather here. Everything is fine, the hotel is very good.

"We have all the conditions to work and to rest."
