Former Wolves midfielder David Davis has undergone surgery after fracturing his left ankle.

David Davis has undergone surgery for an ankle injury

The 27-year-old suffered the injury during an afternoon training session with current club Birmingham City.

It is unclear how long Davis will be out of action but he tweeted the operation was a 'success' and he will return 'stronger than ever'.

Davis joined Blues from Wolves in 2014 and made 38 appearances in the Championship for them last season.

He signed for Wolves in 2009 where he made 53 appearances.
