The first team squad and coaching staff today reported back to the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground in Compton.

The players are going through basic tests over the next couple of days before embarking on any real training.

They are currently being housed in the academy building whilst the new first team training pitches are being completed.

It is expected the new pitches – which are the same dimensions as Molineux – should be ready in plenty of time before the new season.

The players will be getting back up to speed over the next couple of weeks ahead of their opening clash at home to Everton on August 11.

There were notable absentees – new signings Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez - who have been representing their countries at the World Cup.

Midfielder Romain Saiss, who has been representing Morocco, dropped by the training ground after returning from the World Cup.

But the trio are set to be given an extra couple of weeks off to rest.
