Wolves legend Steve Bull launches charity drive at golf day
Scores of fans joined Wolves legend Steve Bull as he teed off his annual golf day to raise cash for charity.
The event was held at Penn Golf Club in Wolverhampton to raise money for the Steve Bull Foundation.
More than 100 golfers took part in the event totalling 22 teams - where tickets cost £325 for each team.
Bull hoped to raise thousands of pounds from the tournament which will go to charitable causes and help disadvantaged people. The 53-year-old, who scored more than 300 goals for Wolves, thanked Penn Golf Club for letting them host the event.
He said: “It is brilliant to hold the event today.
“Penn have agreed to get us on here for so we do apologise to the members for taking over the course.
“It is for good causes for the foundation. We have got 22-and-a-half teams, which is absolutely brilliant.”
“We don’t know how much it will raise yet – it could be £1,000, £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000.
“But whatever we raise, it will go to good causes.”
Bull was joined by former Wolves team-mate Don Goodman who called the charitable tournament a great event.
The £325 tickets also saw the players treated to a dinner and receive a goodie-bag. The tournament was held yesterday where golfers teed off with a shotgun start at 1pm.
