Wolves star Ruben Neves named in Portugal's preliminary World Cup squad
Wolves midfield maestro Ruben Neves has been named in Portugal's preliminary squad for this summer's World Cup.
Neves is rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Pepe and Bernardo Silva in the 35-man squad, which will be trimmed to 23 players on Thursday.
The 21-year-old has made five appearances for Portugal's first-team having featured regularly in the nation's youth set-up, he's been influential in Wolves' title-winning season - scoring six goals.
He's been tipped to make the cut for the final squad following the achilles injury sustained by Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira, which has ruled him out from making the trip to Russia this summer.
Neves' latest appearance for his nation came in the 2-1 friendly win over Egypt, with the Wolves midfielder starting the game before being brought off after 75 minutes.
