Promotion was confirmed after Fulham's 1-1 draw with Brentford yesterday, Wolves continuing the party by beating Birmingham 2-0 today.

Scottish international Douglas cannot wait for what is set to be his first season in the Premier League.

"I'm trying to put it into words. Words can't describe that feeling," said the 28-year-old.

"I'm playing, hopefully, in the Premier League next year.

"It's an incredible season we've had. We just need to go and get the Championship medal now.

"Individually, the guys have been top class – personal accolades the guys are up for – but overall, as a squad, we've been different class.

"The whole group, everyone has stepped up.

"We've been the best team. It's no more than we deserve."

Douglas has chipped in with 14 assists this campaign, putting him level with Villa's Robert Snodgrass as the top provider of goals in the Championship.

He joined Wolves from Konyaspor, where he won the Turkish Cup, last summer and has also scored four goals this term.

Another who has come up with a decent number goals and assists for Nuno Espirito Santo's side is Helder Costa.

The 24-year-old has five of each and has been back to his best over the past couple of months, after an ankle injury kept him out for a few months at the tail end of last year.

The £13million winger has rarely spoke to the media since coming in from Benfica, but took the time to bask in the glory of promotion.

"After all the work this year, I think we deserve it," said Costa.

"Above that, the fans deserve it. They have to enjoy it with us now.

"We've done it now, the hard part is next year."
