Derby boss Gary Rowett: We can learn from Wolves
Derby boss Gary Rowett has praised Wolves' recruitment strategy – and says he will try and learn things from them.
Several Championship clubs have criticised Wolves' links with agent Jorge Mendes with Leeds even making an official complaint.
However Rowett, whose Rams teams head to Molineux tomorrow on the back of two successive wins, hailed Nuno's job at integrating his expensively-assembled squad.
"Unless someone flags something up that is wrong, what they have benefitted from is some really good recruitment," Rowett told the Derby Telegraph.
"Of course, having a link to Jorge Mendes, with players of that quality they can bring in, of course is going to help but in some ways every club has that opportunity to try to build those links.
"They have signed some very good players, but we have seen it in this division before where teams have signed very good players and not managed to galvanise them and create that synergy that wins them games.
"So what you have to do, regardless if you have got the likes of Ruben Neves who was playing in the Champions' League at a young age, is you have to work with them and build performances.
"I think the manager has done that really well.
"As a manager, you look at them (Wolves) and you try to learn things from them.
"Rather than look from a bitter perspective, I would rather look from a learning perspective and see the good things they are doing and how maybe you can reflect that yourself."
