Wolves edged ever closer to promotion with a dramatic 1-0 win at Cardiff on Friday.

It now seems just a matter of when, not if, they reach the Premier League.

However Fulham's victory over Sheffield Wednesday keep Slavisa Jokanovic's flying Cottagers just about in the hunt, 11 points behind Wolves.

Fulham have won 15 and drawn four of their past 19 matches and host Reading – who include ex-Wolves men Dave Edwards and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson in their ranks – on Tuesday evening, with Wolves playing Derby at Molineux on Wednesday.

Here are the current promotion permutations for Nuno Espirito Santo's team...

– If Fulham beat Reading then Wolves cannot win promotion against Derby.

– If Fulham draw or lose then Wolves will go up with a win against Derby.

– Whatever Fulham do, if Wolves beat Derby on Wednesday and Blues at home on Sunday they will win promotion.

– Aston Villa can no longer catch Wolves. Their 3-1 defeat to Norwich leaves them 16 points behind Nuno's side with five games remaining.

– If Fulham and Wolves both win in midweek then attention will turn to Fulham's home derby against Brentford on Saturday (5.30pm). In that scenario anything less than a win against the Bees would see Wolves promoted.
