Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore criticises Wolves fans on Twitter
Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore has taken a pop at Wolves fans on Twitter.
The 47-year-old took to Twitter following Wolves' win over Middlesbrough, responding to fans of Nuno's side who poked fun at Villa's 'cup final' 4-1 win against Wolves earlier this month, after which they've failed to register three points.
The former Liverpool striker went on to slam Wolves fans, stating that the Villans have played in numerous legitimate cup finals since Wolves last battled for a trophy in a final.
"I've deleted the tweet of congratulations, should have known better." he tweeted.
"We actually play in Finals, even when we're s****e. Real ones, not the Sherpa Van . Your last "Cup Final"?
"Villa.. FA Cup Final, League Cup Final, European Cup Final, Super Cup Final, All since yours."
Following numerous replies from Wolves fans, Collymore went on to criticise clubs' fans who have 'little class or memory'.
"Deleted it because like fans of clubs with new money but little class or memory, you all give it the big un [sic] forgetting the tripe you've served up for the best part of 40 years." he tweeted.
"Big club, small time mentality."
Wolves currently sit top of the Championship table, 16 points clear of Villa, who play Hull City today.
