The Premier League Toffees are without a manager after sacking Ronald Koeman and Nuno has reportedly been sounded out by the Everton hierarchy.

Speaking at today's pre-Fulham press conference the head coach reaffirmed his commitment to the the Wolves job, calling it possibly the hardest challenge of his career.

But he didn't respond directly when prompted to say he was definitely staying.

Nuno began today's press conference by saying: "Regarding that issue, when we joined Wolves in the summer, not only me but my technical staff, we came with commitment of something important and a big challenge, perhaps one of the hardest challenges that we have to face.

"Since the first day we've been working really hard on that. The same thing that I ask my players is that every day is a day of hard work and only one focus. It's the club, what we want to build, how we want to perform.

"If I ask my players that, that goes to me also. The only focus I have in my mind today is the game of tomorrow. Nothing else can distract us.

"We are in the way of something really important and we are in a good way and doing things well.

"There's nothing else in my mind, or the mind of the players. Tomorrow is our focus."

When asked would he say no to Everton, the boss responded: "I think that was a long answer and I was quite clear.

"There's nothing more important in our lives than the game of tomorrow.

He then added: "I think (the Everton link) is recognition of the work the boys and the players are doing. They're performing well and playing good football.

"It's normal that this happens but it cannot and does not distract us.

"When you sign a contract you must respect that contract and people who know me personally know what kind of man I am and my beliefs.

"I think it's not only me, we're talking about a lot of people, new players, new ownership, it's a project and a project that requires commitment and no distractions at all.

"The same things I say to my players apply to me."

Nuno signed a three-year contract at Molineux in the summer, shortly after leaving Porto.

BBC WM's Mike Taylor put to the boss: "The only words fans want to hear are 'no I am staying' – you're clear about that?"

He replied: "My only focus is tomorrow, nothing else is in my mind."

And when asked by the Express & Star's Tim Spiers if he could confirm or deny that Everton had made contact with him, Nuno said: "I think I was clear, not only to you, but to all the people regarding that subject.

"Since June when I joined there's no other things (other) than this commitment we have. It's a big challenge.

"I think we're in the right way. But we cannot get distracted. Jorge (Mendes) knows what I say to him."

The Wolves boss also this afternoon tweeted for the first time since taking the job on June 1, posting a wolf head.
