Man City vs Wolves: Stubborn squirrel provides pre-match entertainment
It was a game full of highs and lows as Wolves had the better chances before ultimately losing in the Carabao Cup to Manchester City on penalties.
But before the match had even kicked off fans at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester were treated to some pre-match entertainment courtesy of a squirrel that refused to budge.
Groundstaff at the stadium were forced to interject in an attempt to retrieve the squirrel, which was not believed to have purchased a ticket for the game.
It had entered the game by a corner flag but unfortunately for the City staff the squirrel wanted his chance in the limelight and managed to evade capture for some time.
At one stage a poor City groundsman even had his finger bitten by the nutty guest that wasn't quite ready to depart from centre stage.
But eventually the groundstaff managed to scoop it up before 'safely' releasing it prior to kick-off.
It is unknown if the squirrel would have been called on to take a penalty had the game gone to sudden death.
