Preston's Tom Barkhuizen earns wrath of Wolves fans
Preston player Tom Barkhuizen has earned the wrath of Wolves fans after claiming Nuno Espirito Santo's team "can't not go up" after spending £40million on transfers.
Wolves host fifth-placed Preston at Molineux on Saturday looking to cement their position at the top of the Championship.
Barkhuizen, who has starred for the Lilywhites since joining from Morecambe last January, told Preston's official website that the pressure would all be on Nuno's team this weekend.
"The pressure is all going to be on (Wolves), you can't spend £40million in this league and not go up," he said.
"We know where we are budget wise and the players that we bring in but you also know what you are going to get."
After receiving some stick from Wolves fans on Twitter, Barkhuizen responded with a comedy picture of two monkeys having a conversation saying: "You p****d a lot of people off, what did you do? Told 'em the f*****g truth."
That sparked a string of replies from Wolves supporters.
Barkhuizen replied saying he didn't know what all the fuss is about.
