Steve Bull: Everybody is after tickets to see Wolves
After the disappointing defeat to Sheffield United I thought we showed a great response in going to Burton three days later and winning.
It wasn’t just the fact they won either – Wolves controlled the game from start to finish, writes Steve Bull.
That’s exactly what you want to see from a team that’s suffered a setback, because Wolves will have a few this season no matter how well they’re doing.
A couple of the goals they scored at Burton were unbelievable and epitomised how well they’re playing at the moment.
The movement, the passing and the finishing is top notch at the moment and you can tell confidence is high.
I think the Burton win says a lot about the character of the squad and also the team spirit, which is great for the supporters to see.
They could have gone in their shells and tried to grind out a draw or a narrow win but they’ve gone out and expressed themselves from the off and played Burton off the park.
Burton are down the bottom of the table but we lost there last year and have slipped on many banana skins in the past.
The Sheffield United defeat was just a little blip, not helped by that Conor Coady sending off for which I’m sure he knows he did wrong.
Saturday’s win meant Wolves went into the international break in a great position, second in the table and with a real feel-good factor around the club.
Ticket sales are through the roof – my phone is red hot with people wanting tickets but I’m having to say ‘no, go to the ticket office’!
Last year you could have bought one at a car boot sale. But the fans are really on board with what Nuno and the players are doing.
I’m surprised at how everything has clicked so quickly – as I’m sure a lot of the fans are too.
It normally takes 15-20 games for everything to settle down but from day one Wolves have looked like a proper team.
No-one’s getting carried away but it’s exciting times at the club, which is exactly what we wanted after a couple of years in mid-table.
