The midfielder left the club this week for Reading, putting an end to nearly a decade at Wolves.

Posting on Twitter, Edwards offered his thanks to Wolves, and said that it was an 'honour' to wear the badge during his time in the Black Country.

"I just want to say a personal thank you to everyone for all their kind messages and words of support over the last few days," he said.

"Wolves is a special club with an intense passion for success, it's a club which I was immensely proud to wear the badge for and a club which has become very close to my heart.

"I hope all the fans know that when I wore the old gold, I gave 100% each and every time I was lucky enough to wear it over the last 10 years, it has been an honour."

The 31-year-old became one of a flurry of departures over the summer, with the Welsh international joining the Royals for a fee of £1m.

He went on to wish the club success in the future, as they continue their start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo.

"I have met so many great people over the last decade and many that I can now call friends." he said.

"I'd also like to say a special thank you to the fans for making Wolves the passionate club it is, you are the nucleus of the city and again I hope you know I gave my all for you."

The club and a number of players also gave their thanks to Edwards, including the likes of Danny Batth, Jack Price and recently departed Nouha Dicko.
