Birmingham City set to beat Wolves and Aston Villa to Sam Gallagher signature
Wolves and Aston Villa target Sam Gallagher is set to join Championship rivals Birmingham City on a season-long loan, according to reports.
Wolves have coveted the Southampton player all summer but it's understood they preferred a loan with a view to a permanent move and were put off by Southampton's asking price of £13million.
The Saints also wanted £2million for a straight season-long loan, which Blues were happy to pay and could also offer Gallagher guaranteed first-team football.
The 21-year-old is expected in the West Midlands later today to complete a medical.
Nuno Espirito Santo's men currently sit third in the Championship, with City and Villa 15th and 16th respectively.
