Steve Bull: Happy Wolves days for new lads

Two wins and two clean sheets – it’s been a great start to the season.

To beat Middlesbrough, one of the favourites to win promotion this season, was impressive and it was brilliant there was a full house at Molineux to witness it.

There were seven debutants in the starting XI and, as we saw last season, it can be a problem to get them all to gel but they looked and played like a team.

The key has been getting signings in early. Last year there were a number of players who joined after the season had started but this time around they’ve got their head coach and 11 signings in before the first game, with most of them having a full pre-season too. That makes a big different to your preparation for a long nine months ahead.

Everything feels a bit more stable. Nuno’s brought in his new ideas and formation and has got the groundwork done on the training ground, which you will struggle to do during a season when there’s games every few days.

The Yeovil win was never going to be easy – these games never are – but they got through it and that’s all that matters.

I was pleased to see both Leo Bonatini and Nouha Dicko open their accounts in the first two games.

Goalscoring strikers...we haven’t seen them for a bit! As a striker you always want to get that first goal of the season as soon as possible and they’ll both be feeling confident now.

The more games you play without a goal the more frustrated you get. It’ll be a weight lifted off their shoulders and they will hopefully go on and get a few more now.

Dicko’s a natural goalscorer and could play a key role this season.
