The 23-year-old has found himself behind Neves, Romain Saiss, Jack Price and David Edwards in the pecking order for central midfield places.

Wolves have been looking for a suitable club for Evans after Nuno Espirito Santo decided he wasn't in his plans.

And Evans will now look to recreate the success of his 2015/16 loan spell with another League One side, Bradford City.

The Welshman will work under ex-Wolves midfielder Paul Cook who took charge of the Latics in the summer after leaving Portsmouth.

Former team mates Michael Jacobs and Nathan Byrne both play for Wigan.

Evans will be the 10th player to leave Molineux this summer, while permanent deals for Richard Stearman and Andreas Weimann were shelved.
