The left-back arrived for an undisclosed fee from Turkish club Konyaspor on a two-year contract. Douglas started his career in his native Scotland with Queen’s Park, before spending three years with Dundee United and then moving to join Lech Poznan in Poland before deciding to the give the Turkish league a go. But after a cup-winning season wth Konyaspor in 2015, the 27-year-old is now ready for his latest new challenge and says he cannot wait to get going at Wolves.

“It has been a bit of adventure for me over the last four or five years,” said Douglas, who has chalked up 10 goals in more than 200 club appearances.

“I have got a really strong mentality where I have been able to be away and adapt in different countries, and I hope I can use that experience to our advantage.

“I am sure I will bring that to the dressing room and everyone can bounce off each other and move in the same direction and achieve.

“It is a bit different for me coming back to the UK but it is going to be just as much of an adventure here as it would be abroad. There are new goals and targets to achieve. Football is a short career and I am privileged to have had the opportunities I have.”
