Transfer Rumours - May 15th
Expressandstar.com brings you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We're not saying that they're true, just that they're out there.
Wolves
One man reportedly of interest to Wolves, despite the ongoing speculation regarding Paul Lambert, is Newcastle United defender Grant Hanley.
With Rafa Benitez guiding the Magpies to the Premier League, the 25-year-old is seen as surplus to requirements meaning he could be set for a move this summer.
Wolves aren't short of defenders, but with Hanley's pedigree in the Championship he could be seen as a good option at the back.
West Brom
Albion have been tipped to make a move for Anderlecht winger Alexandru Chipciu.
The Romanian international has scored five times this season, but has also totalled 13 assists - drawing plenty of attention across Europe.
Despite having a preference to playing on the wing, the 27-year-old can also play in the middle of the park too, making him a versatile option which could suit Tony Pulis.
Meanwhile, the Baggies have also been linked with experienced Brazilian defender Jardel, currently plying his trade at Benfica.
The 31-year-old wouldn't do much to help the average age of Albion's back-line, but could offer extra cover should injury take its toll next season.
Aston Villa
With Villa still holding on to plenty of deadwood heading into the summer, Steve Bruce is reported to have five players he wants to get rid of.
Loanees Jordan Veretout, Aaron Tshibola and Carles Gil as well as defenders Jordan Amavi and Tommy Elphick are all reportedly set to depart B6 in the coming months.
Bruce and Villa need to stick to FFP rules, meaning sales may need to go ahead before any incoming deals take place.
But one man who looks set to come back to the club is shot-stopper, Sam Johnstone.
Bruce held talks with Jose Mourinho regarding the goalkeeper, and is thought to have secured a deal to keep him in claret and blue on loan next season - following an impressive spell at the club during his previous temporary stay at Villa Park.
Meanwhile, to help bolster the club's attack, a loan move for Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham is also reportedly being considered.
The striker set the Championship alight with his performances for Bristol City last season, making him an ideal investment for other clubs looking to climb into the top flight.
The 19-year-old scored 26 times last season, as well as notching three assists.
