Jordan Graham a 'massive asset' for Wolves claims Richard Stearman

Jordan Graham can be a ‘massive asset’ to Wolves next season, team-mate Richard Stearman believes.

And the Wolves stalwart also believes fellow defender Silvio has taken his chance after his surprise appearance on Tuesday night.

Graham’s return was just about the only positive on another poor Molineux outing for Wolves. The winger came off the bench for his first action in 15 months following a cruciate knee ligament injury.

And Stearman said: “It was great to see Jordan back on the pitch. I thought he really livened the game up and got some bums off seats when he came on.

“If he can stay fit then he’ll be a force to be reckoned with next season.

“I wasn’t here when Jordan broke through (last season) but I saw the highlights and he seemed to be scoring or assisting every game he played in.

“It was exciting for me to see him come on and watch him in the flesh. If we can keep him fit he’ll be a massive asset to the club.

“He can make things happen.”

Portuguese defender Silvio played his first game under Lambert, with his last outing being for Walter Zenga’s final game in charge against Leeds in which he scored an own goal.

The 29-year-old gave a composed performance, which left Stearman impressed.

“Silvio’s a player with great technical ability and a vast amount of experience,” Stearman said.

“He’s been out the side for injury reasons or whatever, but he played really well.

“He took his chance, I think.”

Wolves have the third worst home record in the Championship and have failed to score in nine of their 22 Molineux matches.

That’s in sharp contrast to their away record – the sixth best in the league.

Stearman felt Wolves did well to restrict Huddersfield’s chances but conceded the home form simply must improve next season.

“We’ve cracked the away form and got a style and system that works,” he said.

“If we’d improved our home form we’d have been a lot higher in the league.

“It’s obviously something we need to sit down and think about and work on over the summer and hopefully next season we can make Molineux a real fortress.

“The gaffer said he was going to make changes and I don’t think anyone would have guessed the line-up.

“It’s all credit to the boys that have been out, I thought a lot of them did very well.

“It’s fine margins. We’ve conceded a goal we’re disappointed with and had some good chances. H (Harry Burgoyne) has held his hands up and said he should have saved it, but other than that he had a good game.

“One thing I do bring is a vast amount of experience, as does Danny Batth, and I thought we did well to protect him throughout the game.

“I thought we restricted them to limited opportunities and that’s a team that’s in the play-offs.”
