Players and fans haven't been shy in unloading a host of emotions after yesterday's stunning Wolves win – and captain for the day David Edwards is no different.
The midfielder skippered Wolves to their greatest FA Cup win since beating Newcastle in 2003.
And he revealed that he had a goosebumps moment before the game had even kicked off.
"Before the game all we could hear was the Wolves fans," Edwards said.
"And there was such a special moment for me before kick off – I really had to pinch myself.
"I was stood there and I could just hear the Wolves fans singing that song they have started singing about me.
"I'm stood there thinking there are 45,000 Liverpool fans in the stadium, and I could hear the 9,000 Wolves fans singing that song!
"That is one of those moments when you just want to be able to soak it all in.
"The 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at Anfield is always special as well, even as part of the opposition.
"Then our fans were terrific all game, as they have been all season, and we then have the scenes at full time with Jon Dadi leading the Icelandic clap."
With Danny Batth on the bench Edwards took the armband – and he relished the responsibility of leading the team.
The Welsh international revealed that in the pre-match huddle he urged his team mates to not let the occasion pass them by.
"Captaining Wolves to a win against Liverpool at Anfield has to be up there as one of the best moments of my career," he added.
"It wasn't any ranting and raving (in the huddle), or trying to get the lads going.
"I had been lucky enough to play at stadiums like Anfield when we were in the Premier League.
"And, to be honest, looking back, it is all a blur now.
"I got myself that involved in those games that it all passed me by a little bit.
"So I said to the boys – take a moment before kick off, enjoy it, play with a smile on your face.
"And if you couple that with the hard work and togetherness then this could be the best day of your life on a football pitch.
"I am sure for a lot of the lads, that is what it turned into."
"At club level, it is probably my most special moment on the pitch.
"To captain a club of Wolves' size and upset Liverpool at Anfield is something else.
"Everyone talks about when we won at the Premier League here, which was the first win at Anfield in 27 years.
"A win like this can send the players into the history books and to do it in the FA Cup, with all the magic connected with it, makes it extra special."
Helder Costa starred at Anfield, setting up both of Wolves' goals, scored by Richard Stearman and Andreas Weimann.
Edwards dubbed the Portuguese winger, who is poised to move to Molineux for £13million, as a 'special player'.
"I remember doing my all-time five a side team not long after Helder signed, and I included him, and I think it raised a few people's eyebrows!" he said.
"Hopefully people can see why now!
"I knew it from training – how good he was – and he is a special, special player who is destined for a great future."
