Steve Bull overwhelmed by Wolves response to anniversary

Steve Bull was overwhelmed by the Molineux response following his half-time parade in front of supporters on Saturday.

Wolves' record goal scorer was joined by ex-team-mate Andy Thompson at the break against Sheffield Wednesday to mark the 30th anniversary of their signing.

And both were handed fine receptions despite the hosts finding themselves 2-0 down at the break in new boss Paul Lambert's first home game.

Bull, speaking on his Steve Bull MBE Facebook page, shared his appreciation for the Molineux response. "Overwhelmed by the response I had today when I went on the pitch with all my family – absolutely brilliant!" He posted.

"What an atmosphere! Big thanks to Wolves for making it so special for me and Thommo."

His three-decade association with the the club was marked last week as 500 guests joined the former forward at a packed WV1 bar.

The ex-England star was joined by family, friends and former team-mates who all shared anecdotes, while Led Zeppelin frontman and huge Wolves fan Robert Plant told the crowd how Bull helped revitalise the club.

Graham Turner signed both Bull and Thompson to Molineux on the same day and the pair featured more than 1,000 times for Wolves between them. Bull chalked up 306 goals and earned 13 England caps.
