Rob Edwards pleased with Wolves point
Interim boss Rob Edwards was pleased with a point as Wolves came from behind to draw with Blackburn.
David Edwards' popped up with his third Ewood Park goal in three seasons to cancel out Sam Gallagher's early opener.
The temporary boss admitted his team were too open at times, but he was pleased with their fighting spirit.
"Overall I'm really pleased," he said.
"What we could have done better was being tighter and more compact without the ball.
"We did let them cross the ball too much and let them have too many shots - although we did have more shots than them.
"We looked a little bit open.
"If we can rectify that, with some of the play we have we can be a match for anyone.
"We tried to implement things during the week that were a little bit different and new to the players and they've tried to execute them really well. I think at times, we could see some of the things we'd worked on and it did cause them problems.
"At the same time they caused us problems because we weren't compact enough without the ball."
Edwards had four days with the players in training this week after Walter Zenga was sacked on Tuesday.
Has he been able to change too much?
"No you can't change too much in a few days, it's impossible," he said.
"We've tried to implement things and the players worked really hard in trying to do it, but you can't change the world in three or four days.
"We've had to keep some things consistent and get a togetherness, a work rate and get the things that we can guaranteee. And the players did that, they gave effort right to the last minute.
"We could have been better without the ball.
"I couldn't fault the commitment from the players. There's no blame there. It just takes a bit of time to get it right. If we get this week, that's something we can rectify.
"I don't think there was anything wrong with the way we started the game. But they do have quality and it was a fantastic finish. It was disappointing we let the cross come in but it was a great finish.
"We showed great character.
"The spirit was great, as was the togetherness. The players were with us and they showed that in the second half.
"On another day we could have won."
Edwards, who revealed that goalkeeper Carl Ikeme was withdrawn at half time with a sore hip, was taking charge of his first ever game as a boss.
Did he manage to enjoy it?
"It was an incredible experience," he said.
"To be doing it out on the touchline, leading Wolverhampton Wanderers out, was a really proud moment.
"I really enjoyed it. It is more stressful, there's a lot going on, especially with their fans today and the protest, it was a strange atmosphere at times.
"I just want to thank the supporters as well because they gave the lads and the staff a great applause at the end. They stayed with us and they were brilliant, they've got a long journey going back and I want to say thank you.
"It's away from home, we've gone 1-0 down and we got a draw so I think it's been a good day."
And of his prospects of getting the job, Edwards said: "We'll just carry on until we're told otherwise. Our focus goes on to Derby."
