Nouha Dicko delight at Wolves return
Nouha Dicko finally made his Wolves comeback after 13 months out and declared: "It's like I've never been away."
The popular striker was a surprise substitute during Wolves 2-1 home to defeat to Norwich on Saturday, playing for the first time since he suffered a season-ending cruciate knee ligament injury on August 29 last year.
Dicko, who almost scored five minutes after coming on, was blown away by the rapturous ovation the Wolves supporters gave him.
And he said: "It was great, I felt something that was really unbelievable.
"I would like to thank them for their support throughout this whole year.
"It's been 13 months since my last game – it felt like I never left.
"The reception was great. I was just happy to come back and play for the first team.
"Wolves is a big club, I'm happy to be here. The fans are great and they have shown it again.
"With social media the fans can show their support and it was great during the whole time."
It was a shock to see Dicko named in the squad, especially after he had pulled out of an under-23 game last Monday due to feeling a slight twinge in his knee.
Dicko had made a number of appearances for Scott Sellars' side in the past six weeks and will now set his sights on earning a first-team spot.
He added: "During the week, the manager asked me how I felt, because on Monday I was meant to play for the under-23s but I needed more rest because I've played some games.
"I felt like I needed to take care of the knee a little bit because it's been a long time since I played as many games.
"They asked me if I felt ready to be involved and I said yes.
"I wasn't really nervous, I was really looking forward to it.
"It's a moment I've been waiting for for a a year, so it's great to finally be there.
"It was almost as I dreamt, because I was looking to score on my comeback.
"It was nearly there but next time hopefully."
