Danny Batth signs new contract at Wolves
Skipper Danny Batth has signed a new contract with Wolves, tying him to Molineux until 2020.
The captain's previous deal was due to expire next summer.
Batth, who turned 26 yesterday, has been at Wolves since he was a youngster.
Batth is one of three players to play every minute of Wolves' eight Championship games so far this season, along with Carl Ikeme and Matt Doherty.
Sporting director Kevin Thelwell said he was delighted to sign Batth up.
"Danny has been a big part of what we have been aiming to achieve here over the last few seasons, and he remains a big part of what we want to do going forward," Thelwell said.
"He came through the academy after arriving at the age of 10, and has since gone on to become a regular in the first team and also our captain.
"Everyone at Wolves knows that not only he is a very good player and leader, he is also an excellent professional who sets high standards and is a shining example of the sort of player we want at the club.
"There has been interest in him from other clubs over the last couple of seasons, so it is great news for everybody concerned that he has pledged his long-term future to Wolves."
Brierley Hill-born Batth graduated through the club's academy and made his Wolves debut in 2010 after a successful loan move with Colchester United.
He later had two spells with Sheffield Wednesday and established him in the Wolves team in the second half of the 2012/13 campaign under Dean Saunders, becoming a regular under Kenny Jackett in League One the following season.
He was given the skipper's armband in 2014/15 when Sam Ricketts fell out of favour and took on the role permanently when Ricketts departed last summer.
In total Batth has made 159 appearances for Wolves, scoring 11 goals.
The Express & Star revealed in July that talks would be opened with Batth, Carl Ikeme and David Edwards, with the latter pair also out of contract in 2017.
Edwards said earlier this week that he was desperate to stay at Molineux, while Ikeme told the Express & Star last month that he is keen to stay.
It's expected that both Ikeme and Edwards - who've signed up at Wolves since 2003 and 2008 respectively - will pen new deals in the near future.
