Nouha Dicko returns to action for Wolves

Wolves striker Nouha Dicko has returned to action after almost a year out with a knee injury.

Dicko played the first 45 minutes of Wolves Under-23's 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Bodymoor Heath on Monday afternoon.

The popular 24-year-old looked sharp on his return, going close to scoring when he headed Daniel Armstrong's cross against the post.

He had been out of action since suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury during Wolves' 2-1 win over Charlton on August 29 last year.

Dicko returned to training towards the back end of last season, but suffered a setback in July when he had to undergo minor surgery to have a staple removed from his knee.

He has since been training with the under-23 squad to build up his fitness.

England youth international Morgan Gibbs-White scored the winning goal for 10-man Wolves just one minute from time.

He was set up by substitute Niall Ennis, who had replaced Dicko at half time.

Scott Sellars' team played the final few minutes with 10 men after Armstrong limped off with a foot injury.

Ex-Wolves man Joleon Lescott played for Villa.

Several Wolves players tweeted about the game - and Dicko's return.
