The 27-year-old Congo international was believed to be shown around Compton Park today ahead of rumoured £1.9m move.
New Wolves owners Fosun have made it no secret they want to bring in new signings as Wolves look for a route back to the Premier League.
Oniangué was captain of the U-16 SM Caen team, and was the MVP of the U-16 tournament.
He was then sold to Rennes where he played 58 games and scored three goals for the second team.
In 2010, he moved to French Second Division club Tours before joining Reims in 2013.
The 6ft 3in midfielder who can also play in defence has scored six goals in 30 appearance for Congo.
