The 25-year-old Icelander had played for Molde in a 17-game loan spell during his time at Wolves.
He said: "After I talked with Ole Gunnar, I thought I just had to return.
"It was absolutely fantastic to be here the first time two years ago. And when we signed the agreement and it was clear in a very short time. I am very happy."
The striker, who was released earlier this summer, signed for Wolves in 2012 playing 69 games, including 15 without a goal on return from injury last season.
