Wolves' David Edwards set to be available for start of the season
Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards is expected to be available for the start of the new season after his Wales adventure finally came to an end.
Edwards made three appearances as Chris Coleman's team made it all the way to the semi finals of the European Championship, losing 2-0 to Portugal on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old was unavailable for the semi final having picked up a minor groin injury.
He was expected to return to Compton Park today to have it checked over, before being given two and a half weeks off to recuperate.
Kenny Jackett said he expected Edwards to be available for Wolves' opening-day trip to Rotherham on August 6.
"Dave will have two and a half weeks off now on holiday," Jackett said.
We don't think the groin injury will be a problem - he'll be good to go after that break.
"He wasn't on the bench on Wednesday night, I don't think he was a named sub.
"He's going to come back in, probably on Friday, check the groin out and go away for two and a half weeks.
"It's been a long period for him. He had 10 days off at the end of the season, but it's been quite intense being away from home.
"It's been fantastic for him. He'll need this break. Come Rotherham I think he'll be available.
"Sometimes players like him do better for the rest than the consistent training.
"He's a very fit player who does a high amount of running."
