Wolves takeover rumours: Who is Robin Li?

Rumours continue to persist that Chinese businessman Robin Li could be looking to buy Wolves...but what do we know about him?

Robin Li or Li Yanhong is a 47-year-old Chinese internet entrepreneur who has a net worth of $14.3 billion (£10.6bn) as of December 2015.

He co-founded the Chinese search engine Baidu and is currently the seventh richest man in mainland China.

Baidu is a Chinese search engine for websites, audio files and images.

The company is one of the three dominant forces of China's internet landscape, along with Alibaba and Tencent. The trio are known as "BAT."

Industry competition and the move from desktop computing to mobile has led Baidu to become more involved in e-commerce, video platforms and linking its online users to offline services such as food delivery and buying tickets to shows and movies.

Li is married and has four children.

According to the Hurun Report Global Rich List 2014, Li was also ranked as the 119th richest man in the world,

Li studied information management at Peking University and computer science at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

In 2000 he founded Baidu with Eric Xu. The company was floated on the NASDAQ stock exchange on August 5, 2005.

Li was included as one of the '15 Asian Scientists To Watch,' by Asian Scientist Magazine.

Back in 2001, he published a book Business War in Silicon Valley and received the George W. Thorn Award for international contributions to their field.

In 2001, he was named one of the 'Chinese Top Ten Inoovative Pioneers' and in 2002 and 2003, he was one of the 'IT Ten Famous Persons.'

In 2006 he received the award for 'World'd Best Business Leader' from American Business Weekly.
