Ex-Wolves director rumours played down
Ex-Wolves board member and lifelong fan Bob Laslett has left his role as chairman of non-league Margate – but rumours that he is interested in buying Wolves are believed to be wide of the mark.

The 69-year-old was a director at Molineux until 2013 and has since ploughed millions into Kent club Margate in a bid to take them to the Football League.
He has now stepped down as chairman of the Vanarama National League South club and there has been speculation at Margate that Wolves was to be his next destination.
However the Express & Star understands those rumours are categorically untrue.
Sources say that although Laslett is a boyhood supporter and has a deep affection for the club, he has no intention of buying Wolves from Steve Morgan or being part of any consortium to lead a takeover.
Laslett was on the Molineux board from 2008 to 2013.
He made his multi-million pound fortune through Chaucer, the company that sponsored Wolves' shirts from between 2004 and 2009.
Chaucer then sponsored the Wolves academy, with Laslett giving millions to the club during his long association with them.
He quit the board citing business demands, and then stood down as Chaucer chairman in 2014 having taken up the reins at Margate a few months earlier.
A Margate club statement said of Laslett's departure: "Margate Football Club director John Webb has taken over as chairman as Bob Laslett has decided to pass the baton onto a younger person.
"John has been very much involved in the club for past two years, especially with the youth section. He is the ideal person to take on the role of chairman and take the club forward.
"Ivan Laslett has also decided to step down in favour of someone younger. Chris Pope will take over the role of vice chairman whilst continuing as chief executive.
"John and Chris who between them have many years' experience in business and football management will make an excellent team to lead the club positively forward and realise further success."
