Ajax captain Nicolai Boilesen close to £300k Wolves move
Ajax defender Nicolai Boilesen is close to agreeing a £300k deal to move to Wolves.
The 15-times capped Danish defender, a left-back who is also comfortable at centre-half, hasn't played this season owing to a contract dispute.
The 23-year-old's current deal expires this summer and reports in Holland suggest Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has confirmed Wolves' interest.
Boilesen, tracked by Villa in the summer, could be available for as little as £300,000.
It was initially thought the player would be heading to Compton Park for a medical today.
However it is believed representatives of the defender came to the country to finalise a deal.
A fee has been agreed between the two clubs and the ball is in Boilesen's court as to whether he wants to move to a Championship club, with interest likely to come from around Europe for his services.
He turned down a new deal with the Dutch giants last summer and boss Frank de Boer has refused to play him ever since.
Boilesen is thought to have had his sights set on a Premier League move but with no other interest forthcoming, Wolves are favourites for his signature.
The 6ft 1in defender is club captain at Ajax and has made 66 appearances for the club.
Ajax are willing to let Boilesen move now for a relatively small fee, instead of him departing on a free transfer in June.
