But the head coach doesn't yet have any news on Bjorn Sigurdarson's injury, after the Icelandic striker was stretchered off with what was feared to be a re occurrence of his back injury.

Nikica Jelavic's 85th-minute strike proved the difference on Wolves' last trip to Upton Park.

But Carl Ikeme was kept quiet for long periods of the game with Wolves' impressive defensive rearguard doing a sterling job.

The visitors even had chances to win it.

Jackett said: "We came into the game in the second half, quietened the crowd and had quite a bit of it, but couldn't quite find that goal we needed.

"Chances were few and fear between in a hard working, spirited performance."

Sigurdarson went down early in the second half, seemingly unable to move before he was slowly put on his back and stretchered off.

It was his first start for Wolves since December 2013 and he had led the line impressively.

"You never want to see a player being stretchered off and going down like that with nobody around him," Jackett, who praised Polish winger Michal Zyro after a lively debut in Wolves colours, said,

"I thought Bjorn had a good, strong game and lot to build on against a tough defence.

"He's gone to have a scan, we'll see how things settle down.

"Bjorn and Zyro were two new players today and had a bright hour.

"I thought Zyro showed enough quality, heart and physicality to help the side."
