Wolves midfield duo praised after wins
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has praised the impact of midfielders Conor Coady and David Edwards in his team's successive victories.
Coady impressed in midfield for the wins over Reading and Charlton, in place of Jack Price who was out through illness.
Edwards was recalled after being dropped for the 4-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. Both players excelled in Monday's 2-0 win at the Valley.
Jackett said: "They covered a lot of ground and have given us some competitiveness and some physical presence in midfield, which we did need.
"We can talk about the goals-against column in terms of the back four but it was too easy for sides to get through.
"They've certainly given us a platform in terms of being able to then get narrow as a back four and defensively win the first header.
"A change of formation to a more rigid 4-5-1 has certainly made a big difference.
Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme had little to do in both the Reading and Charlton games, despite the Royals dominating the second half at Molineux on Boxing Day.
Jackett explained: "We can talk about the boys at the back but they had very little protection in front of them and, while we were driving forward and looking good, we were looking poor defensively.
"We needed to address that and the change of formation has been with that in mind, to put us in games and give us a chance to compete for the points.
"Things can turn very quickly in the Championship. When you get so many games in a short period of time you can capitalise on it if you get the right results."
