Kenny Jackett: Wolves need to push on after home hoodoo ends

Boss Kenny Jackett has called for Wolves to build on Saturday's victory over Reading as his team finally broke their Molineux hoodoo.

They went into today's game at lowly Charlton having won their first home match for almost three months.

James Henry's goal was the difference between the two sides.

And Jackett said Wolves had to add to that against the Addicks today.

"It was our first (at Molineux) for some time, which is a big step for the players to be able to build on," he said. "We have to try to build on that on Monday. It was a very hard-earned win against a very good Reading side.

"We have two away games now and we would prefer to be going to Charlton with a win as we now have."

Wolves, who have been linked with a move for Bolton's former Crystal Palace left-back Dean Moxey, are no nearer to the top six (nine points) or the bottom three (seven points) after the Reading victory.

It was a rare home win for Wolves against Reading

Jackett hopes his team's confidence improves as a result of the win, but suggested he isn't under any less pressure

"Hopefully the players will take some confidence from this," he added.

"There is always pressure on a head coach or manager.

"I didn't feel any more than normal but I do understand it is a results business.

"We finished seventh last season and were in the play-off race all the way through.

"As it stands now we are not in the play-off race and are looking over our shoulder.

"It is a close league and it is competitive, but like everyone else we want to be looking up if we can but we have got to work hard enough to earn that.

"For me personally, you are always under some form of pressure and it is about making sure we get the players organised and encourage them and give them the belief we can do well."
