Highly-rated Wolves keeper seals loan move
Young Wolves goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has moved to National League North side Corby Town on a one-month loan deal.
It is 18-year-old Burgoyne's second loan of the season after he played five matches for fellow National League North outfit Lowestoft Town.
The 6ft 5in teenager has been at Wolves since the age of 12 and is regarded as an excellent prospect for the future.
Burgoyne was recalled from Lowestoft after fellow keeper Jon Flatt picked up a hamstring injury, but has now secured another temporary switch.
The youngster said he was looking forward to getting some more first team experience.
"I am really looking forward to the opportunity of representing Corby over the course of the next month or so, and playing my part in helping them to push their way back up the table," he said.
"For me personally it's been a great start to the season. I enjoyed my time at Lowestoft, and gave a good account of myself during Wolves' last four Under 21 fixtures, so I am relishing the opportunity to kick-on while at Corby.
"When I do eventually return to Wolves from my loan-spell, it would be nice to think that I have made a difference, and to see Corby climb their way up the league."
Burgoyne was part of the Wolves under-19 side that won a European tournament in Germany in May, and then spent time with the first team during the pre-season tour of France after an injury to Carl Ikeme.
Burgoyne, who signed a two-year contract at Molineux in the summer, will continue to train with Wolves during the week.
Corby boss Tommy Wright said: "I am very happy that we have been able to bring Harry to the club from Wolves, once again a huge thank you for Scott Sellars for his support.
"He is a goalkeeper who is very highly rated at Molineux and has had glowing reports from his time with Lowestoft and we are delighted to have him on board."
Burgoyne will go straight into the Corby squad for tomorrow's fixture away at Boston United.
