No fewer than four former Wolves regulars are on Burnley's books - David Jones, Stephen Ward, Sam Vokes and Michael Kightly, the latter making his first return to the club since leaving for Stoke in 2012.

All four were part of Mick McCarthy's Championship winning squad of 2009 and between them the quartet made 496 appearances in gold and black.

Jones and Vokes are almost certain to start tomorrow's match having both been ever-presents in the Championship for Dyche's team.

Another looking to impress for Burnley on what will be home turf is Wolverhampton-born striker Andre Gray, currently the Championship's top goalscorer with 10 in 12 games and who left Wolves as a 13-year-old.

Gray cost the Clarets a reported £9m when he moved from Brentford in the summer and this week equalled a 103-year club record by scoring three consecutive braces at Turf Moor.

It is quite the fairytale for the 24-year-old, who was stabbed while on a night out in Wolverhampton back in 2011.

The incident left a four-inch scar on his face and was the catalyst to turn his life, and his football career, around.

Gray played for Shrewsbury Town and Telford United in the early years of his career, moving down the leagues to Hinckley United before making his name at Luton Town and then Brentford.

Gray, who knows Wolves captain Danny Batth from their younger days, said of tomorrow's game: "It's a free coach ride home for me!

"My friends will probably want me to score a hat-trick and us to lose 4-3 but I don't care what they want – we need the three points to stay at the top of the league.

"It's going great and the main thing is that we're winning and we moved joint top on Tuesday.

That's why we did so well at Brentford and we're a tight-knit group here, which is showing on the pitch.

"No game in the Championship is going to be easy, especially away from home and we can't take our foot off the gas.

"We're in the driving seat at the moment and we want to stay at the top of the table."

Midfielder Jones played for Wolves from 2008 to 2011, scoring six goals in 66 appearances and winning the Championship title before helping the team stay in the Premier League in consecutive seasons.

The former Manchester United trainee left Molineux for Wigan, moving to Turf Moor in 2013 where he has been a regular in the Burnley midfield ever since.

The 31-year-old said he had good memories of his time at Wolves.

Welshman Vokes, still aged just 26, left Wolves for Burnley in 2012.

"I'm looking forward to playing Wolves, they're definitely a threat, especially at home.

"They get a full house and the crowd get behind them. I got promoted there and had a couple of campaigns in the Premier League.

"Good memories, but I've moved on and I'm enjoying my time here."

Of Burnley's current form, which has seen them win nine in 12 matches to move to second in the table on goal difference behind leaders Hull City, Jones said: "It's going to be a long, tough season again.

"We're not getting carried away or anything, we know how difficult it is and we know how quickly things can change in football, so we're just concentrating on what we do and giving our all and seeing where that mentality takes us.

"The next game at Wolves is a massive one for us, we want to put on a performance and get a good result there."
