Dorus De Vries regrets Wolves stay
Former Wolves goalkeeper Dorus De Vries said he regrets ever moving to Molineux.
The Dutchman endured a frustrating time as back-up to Wayne Hennessey after joining from Swansea in 2011, when Wolves were in the Premier League.
He made just 14 league appearances in two seasons and at one point was denied a moved to Liverpool.
Before joining Wolves, in four seasons at Swansea De Vries was the undisputed number one, playing almost every game and making 178 league appearances.
But in the four seasons since - two at Wolves and then two at Nottingham Forest - he has played just 21 times in the league.
The 34-year-old is still at the City Ground, where he is second choice to Karl Darlow.
But he regrets the day he ever left the Liberty Stadium to join Wolves, at the same time Swansea were promoted to the top flight.
He told the South Wales Evening Post: "At the beginning I thought I had made the right choice, I was getting out of my comfort zone and I was trying to develop as a player and also as a human being.
"Unfortunately it didn't turn out to be the right choice. I regret that choice now definitely.
"If you see how it turns out, I am the same goalkeeper and the same person, but things haven't fallen for me.
"There has been a lot of frustration in the last couple of years, especially with my choice for Wolves. That turned out to be a disappointment.
"I had the chance to make career moves after that as well but they were denied.
"Liverpool came in but that was denied by Wolves. That was really frustrating at the time. I was gutted with that because that was the last big-time opportunity for me.
"It's really hard as a goalkeeper. If you are an outfield player, if you are out of the team you can come on as a substitute or there are injuries and suspensions and you get a chance pretty quickly.
"As a goalkeeper you don't get those opportunities.
"The thing is that I am still the same goalkeeper as I was at Swansea, but I just need my rhythm. People tend to forget that quickly.
"But I am really proud of what I achieved in my years at Swansea. I have fond memories of that time and I always think about that."
