The five-year old has endured chemotherapy every single day since being diagnosed in May 2012.

But with the youngster now in a 'steady' condition Craddock spoke of his relief – and thanked Wolves fans for their support.

Craddock, who spent 10 years at Wolves, said: "I just want to say thank you to the fans, they have been fantastic, they always are. They have been fantastic throughout my career but especially through the Toby scenario – Wolves fans, Sunderland fans, all walks of people – and I just want to say thank you. He is doing really well as he comes to the end of this three year course of treatment.

"I don't like to scream and shout about it because I know what life can be like but inside I am buzzing."

Toby is the youngest of Craddock's three sons and has been treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Some proceeds raised from Craddock's Wolves testimonial, attended by more than 9,000 at Molineux last year, went to the hospital. He said of his brave son: "Toby has been a warrior. He was two when he got diagnosed and I don't think he has known any different, he has taken it in his stride."

"Toby just settled down and got on with it."

Fellow Wolves heroes and ex-team mates congratulated Craddock and Toby on Twitter after the former defender posted a certificate signifying the end of Toby's treatment, which comes with a final round of chemo in July.

Baggies star and former Molineux favourite Joleon Lescott said: "Well done to you all." And Matt Murray added: "Buzzing for you all pal."
