Sporting their new blue and black training gear, the squad came back from their summer break more than six weeks ahead of the start of the Championship season.

Boss Kenny Jackett was joined by new first-team coach Rob Edwards to keep a close eye on the players. The players took part in sprint, endurance and jump tests in a testing first day.

Striker Nouha Dicko said: "First day back today. Some good testing, we're all looking in good shape. Can't wait to start the football sessions."

And winger Jordan Graham added: "First day back was tough! YoYo test done, rest time now, then back at it for the Vo2 test tomorrow."

Football sessions begin on Monday, six days ahead of the first team squad travelling to France for a pre-season trip.

They are going to the prestigious Clairefontaine academy, where they will play two games against French opponents FC Chambly and Paris FC.
