Wolves supporters angry at French 'farce'
Wolves fans have hit out at the club for not releasing details of a pre-season tour to France – almost a month after the trip was announced.
The club will travel across the English Channel from July 5-11 to the prestigious Clairefontaine Academy near Paris.
Two games have provisionally been booked in on July 8 and 10.
But locations for the games – and the opposition being lined up – haven't yet been released, despite the tour being announced back on May 14.
This has left some fans in limbo, unable to book flights or trains to get to the two matches.
Two French clubs – FC Chambly and FC Tours – have said on their official websites they will be playing Wolves.
But with no official announcement yet forthcoming from Wolves, many supporters have been left frustrated.
And it is thought at least one of those reports from France is incorrect.
Chris Sheen said he was waiting to book transport until the games had been confirmed.
He added: "This shambles over the France trip is a total farce. A lot of fans are not happy."
Twitter user agcropper said: "Complete and utter shambles, unfortunately not unexpectedly so. Who is responsible for the inept PR?"
Robert Kostur said any announcement would now already be too late for many Wolves fans.
He said: "Got a feeling it's been cancelled. The club should have announced details by now. A lot of fans can't go now, too late."
Another Wolves fan, Brett, added: "We already know who the games are against so not sure why Wolves are still silent."
And Russ Cockburn bluntly added: "P*** up and brewery springs to mind. Same with Celtic trip a few years back."
After Wolves return from France they travel to Burton Albion for a friendly on July 18.
A week later they go to Shrewsbury Town before visiting Doncaster on August 1 a week ahead of the Football League campaign starting on August 8.
In a break with tradition the club's home pre-season friendly will be played on Tuesday night, with Tim Sherwood's FA Cup finalists Aston Villa the visitors to Molineux on July 28.
Trouble flared at Wolves' last foreign pre-season game, five years ago in Belgium.
Around 100 fans were sprayed by a water cannon and separated by police in pre-arranged fights before a game against Charleroi.
Tours have since been low key with trips to Scotland in 2013 and Ireland last year.
