Dave Edwards prepares Wolves for Wigan war
Midfielder Dave Edwards has primed Wolves fans for a no-holds-barred shootout at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
The Wales international believes both sides will go for glory as they need a win.
Kenny Jackett's side must come out on top to have a chance of staying in the play-off hunt and the Latics to try to avoid relegation.
Wolves are three points off the top six and need Ipswich and Brentford to lose while Wigan - where the Molineux men played their last Premier League game three years ago - must win and hope Rotherham lose at home to Norwich.
A sell-out allocation of 4,500 visiting fans will travel up the M6 on Saturday and Edwards is convinced the journey to Lancashire will be worth making.
"There's a lot riding on this game – they need to win and so do we – so it has the makings of a very attacking game," said the experienced 29-year-old. "We'll get a tough challenge from Wigan.
"Wigan have a new manager and know they need to win both games to stand any chance of staying up.
"They're going to be up for it 100 per cent and won't want to be getting relegated at their own stadium and will want the win that keeps their chances going.
"They'll be battling for everything and with both teams needing to win, hopefully there is the makings of a good game."
Edwards insists Wolves remain focused on making the play-offs even though their chances are hanging by a thread.
"We're really focused and we still believe we can be in the thick of it," he said.
"The odds are very much against us but we just have to focus on doing everything we can to win the next game and see what happens elsewhere.
Edwards has assured fans that the players are determined to end the season on a high, with Millwall at home to follow in the season's swansong on May 2.
"After two defeats and a draw we want to make sure we finish the season positively," said the former Shrewsbury and Luton man.
"There are a lot of positives to take from the season and that can be looked at in the future.
"But hopefully we can finish strongly and sneak into the play-offs."
