Razak Boukari given hope on Wolves future

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett hasn't ruled out a first-team place for luckless winger Razak Boukari if he can prove his fitness.

The £2.5million signing, who is the only player boss Jackett has yet to see play competitively, is a week from returning to full training after a groin injury.

Boukari has been beset by injuries ever since joining Wolves from French club Rennes in July 2012, restricting him to just four league appearances and two starts.

First the 27-year-old was hit by a complicated long-term calf problem, then a torn hamstring that required surgery in the summer, then calf and groin niggles.

Even his return to training has been delayed, but Jackett revealed that Boukari is close to his comeback although he stressed there's still obstacles to overcome.

The Wolves boss said: "Razak is nearly back training, he'll be back in full training within a week.

"Whether then he can transfer that into the Championship, he needs a good run at it, and he'll need some reserve games which he hasn't managed to do yet.

"If he's there, he's fresh and he's OK, then nobody would be more pleased than me and we'll include him straight away.

"He has got the profile for the type of wingers that we want and, as and when we can we can get him fit, we're interested to see what he can do."
