Razak Boukari closes in on Wolves return
Forgotten winger Razak Boukari is ready to make his latest comeback from injury – and march straight into Kenny Jackett's plans at Wolves.
The £2.5m signing, who is the only player boss Jackett is yet to see play competitively, is a week from returning to full training after a groin injury.
Boukari has been beset by injuries ever since joining Wolves from Rennes in July 2012, restricting him to just four league appearances and two starts.
First he was hit by a complicated long-term calf problem, then a torn hamstring that required surgery in the summer, then calf and groin niggles.
But the head coach now claims Boukari is nearing full fitness.
"He's not far away and will be back in full training within the next seven days," said Jackett.
"As and when Razak Boukari becomes fit it will be interesting to see him. He deserves a break and a bit of luck to maybe get a run because he has the profile for the type of winger we want."
Asked if he was prepared to consider the wideman for the first team, Jackett said: "
If he can play to the level of the players we have and above then yes, I will consider.
"Hopefully he can get over his injury problems which have been considerable and we can be looking at the squad and say everyone has had an opportunity.
"It's been a tough time for him but he's a good lad around the place, he's punctual, polite and committed to his work as well.
"He's had a really tough time with injuries and I don't think it's for the want of trying. He works hard and I feel sorry for him really because he just can't keep himself fit."
