Rajiv van La Parra : Please stay Bakary Sako

Wolves' Rajiv Van La Parra today pleaded with Albion target Bakary Sako to stay.

The Baggies head a queue of several Premier League clubs, including Villa and QPR, chasing the former St Etienne wideman.

Sako, out of contract in the summer, scored a super opener for Mali in a 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations on Saturday to boost his value as his Molineux team-mates fought out a 0-0 draw with Charlton.

Winger Van La Parra realises Sako's value to Wolves' promotion charge and wants the 26-year-old to realise his Premier League dream with the Molineux men, rather than moving this month.

"I think for us it's very important because we want to go for promotion and he's a very important player for us to help us get to the Premier League," said Van La Parra.

"So from my point of view, it's very important for him to stay here."

Meanwhile, Van La Parra urged his team-mates they must "find a way" to beat opposition after Saturday's frustrating 0-0 stalemate against Charlton.

The flying Dutchman did his best to lift the crowd in a second successive man of the match display.

But he saw his header from substitute Scott Golbourne's free-kick headed off the line by Andre Bikey.

"We're going to get those kind of games when we play at home," said Van La Parra.

"We have to find a way to beat those kind of teams who play so defensively, so that's something to work on. Teams come here and make it very difficult for us."

The point moved Wolves up a place to seventh, but they are three points off the play-off zone.

Van La Parra is convinced Kenny Jackett's side can gatecrash the top six – providing they can win at Bolton on Saturday.

"Of course – this was just one game and we have so many matches left," he added.

"We have to show how we bounce back this weekend at Bolton."
