Nouha Dicko: Wolves are a different club now
Nouha Dicko today insisted Wolves are a different club from the one he joined on loan last season.
The pacy 21-year-old striker signed a two-and-a-half-year deal after a fee of around £300,000 was agreed with Wigan.
Dicko is expected to be one of two strikers head coach Kenny Jackett is looking to recruit in the January transfer window.
He returns to Molineux for a second spell after a frustrating time last spring when he played four games on loan on the wing under Dean Saunders, scoring once.
Ultimately he couldn't prevent the slide to relegation into League One, his only start coming in the embarrassing finale at Brighton when Wolves lost 2-0.
The Frenchman insists there is a different mood around the place now.
"I think it's the club for me because things have changed from when I was here before and you can see from the players and the fans that it's very different to last season," said Dicko.
"It was difficult and tough times when I was here before but I try to be positive and learn from it even though I was only here for a few weeks.
"Now the club is doing better and I think it's on its way back to where it should be.
"Hopefully I can be a part of it.
"I'm very happy to be here.
"Wolves are a big club and when you have the chance to play for a club like this you have to take it.
"It also meant I got to know the staff and the players which will help me settle in now."
If Dicko's last spell at Wolves was a slow-burner which ended in relegation, he is looking to pick up where he left off in League One after a prolific spell of six goals in six games on loan at Rotherham – two of which came in the 3-3 draw at New York Stadium last month.
And he is looking to prove himself as a striker and goalscorer this time around.
"I had a great time with Rotherham," said Dicko.
"When I was here last time I was played as a winger but I played there as a striker and managed to score goals.
"I think that's what the manager wants me here for – to score goals – and hopefully that's what I'm going to do here.
"I know I scored two goals against Wolves and I'll need to be forgiven for that!
"Now I need to make sure I score a lot more goals for Wolves instead.
"When someone likes Kenny Jackett shows an interest in you and wants to sign you then it makes you feel glad.
"It's nice he wants me to come and play here to help him achieve his goals."
And Dicko is confident he can help Wolves achieve their immediate aim of promotion at the first attempt back to the Championship.
"I'm really excited about the future now," he said.
"Wolves is a big club and I'm really excited about getting started.
"Hopefully we can get automatic promotion and I certainly think we can do it.
"The club has a lot of ambition and wants to get back to the Championship this season and then the Premier League one day.
"I'm glad the club has chosen me and hopefully I'll help the club succeed.
"There are a lot of games left and we're third in the table with the team playing well."
