Wolves' Jack Price told to rest after migraine problems
Wolves midfielder Jack Price was today told to take a break from football until the club's medics get to the bottom of his migraine problem.
The 20-year-old missed Saturday's 2-1 win at Bradford after suffering another migraine attack and blurred vision.
It's the second time in three games Shrewsbury-born Price has missed action after a similar attack forced him off 35 minutes into the 1-1 draw against Coventry on October 19.
Wolves are now trying to rush Price in to see a specialist to solve the problem.
But until Price is seen, he won't train or play – putting his participation in Saturday's visit of Stevenage and Tuesday's trip to Carlisle in jeopardy.
"He didn't train yesterday and our medical people now will take a few days to get him to see a specialist," said head coach Kenny Jackett.
"Once the specialist gives him the OK, I think he'll be fine.
"But until we get the all-clear from the medical people, he won't train or play.
"Whether that will overlap Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday, I don't know yet.
"It depends on the club doctor and physio making an appointment with the relevant specialist.
"We're going to try everything we can to make it happen this week."
In the meantime, medics are looking into what triggers the attacks.
"We're looking into what causes them at the moment," said Jackett.
"Do we need to treat it or is it going to pass? I'm 99 per cent sure it's going to pass."
Jackett is convinced Price's problem won't be long term.
"It's very unlikely there are any long-term problems," he said.
"He's had a migraine and through that some blurred vision twice in three weeks.
"I'd say it's 99 per cent something that builds up and it's maybe a bit of stress and it will pass.
"But we're going to keep him out until we're 100 per cent sure.
"He actually feels OK by the next day, so he gets over it very well, but with it affecting his head and his vision, we're taking no chances.
"It will be a consultation through the doctor on eyes and vision."
Jackett feels Price's frustration after he appeared to have nailed down his place in central midfield.
"He's had some excellent games - he was terrific at Colchester and earned a place and held onto it," he said.
"We have to be cautious and it's right to err on the side of caution but he'll be fine."
