'More to come' says Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald

McDonald has played satisfactorily since his £250,000 move from Sheffield United in August but believes there is plenty more to come from him.

The Scottish playmaker revealed Jackett wants him to get into the opposition areas more to be a greater threat to League One defences.

"The gaffer wants me to push further forward and play more of a part in attack and that's nice because I like to be up there when I can," said McDonald.

"I think I've done alright so far but I definitely feel I've got more to come.

"I'm happy with the way I've started in a new team but I definitely think there's more to come.

"I've settled really well here and am enjoying it on the pitch."

McDonald also believes Wolves will only get better too as the season wears on.

"We've done really well with our results but there's probably also more to come from the team as well," he said.

"I was in this league last year and there are some very good teams and some difficult teams to play against.

"A lot of teams are very solid and there are a lot of good footballing teams as well.

"While people on the outside might think Wolves should be winning comfortably, it's never going to be the case.

"We've managed to get ourselves in a good position in the early stages of the season and hopefully we can continue that."

Wolves are unbeaten on their travels in League One this season and McDonald reckons fifth-placed Bradford will offer the stiffest resistance to that record.

But with wins at Bristol City, Port Vale, Shrewsbury and Colchester and a draw at Preston already in the bag, the 24-year-old schemer insists they will again go to Valley Parade to attack.

"It's going to be a tough game up there with a big crowd and a good atmosphere," he said.

"It's up to us to try to take the game to them.

"We've been good on the road this season and need to put on another strong performance.

"We want to attack teams every game and we want to score goals.

"We're able to do that because we've got a good and solid back-line behind us.

"We'll need to be solid again and the boys at the back have been great this season and Kemes (Carl Ikeme) in particular.

"You always want everyone to contribute as well and as midfielders we try to help them and the strikers too.

"But while we've got a good defensive record, that's not how we set out."
