Dean Saunders: Miracles can happen for Wolves
Manager Dean Saunders today insisted his own experience of footballing miracles gives hope Wolves can achieve one tomorrow.
The Wolves boss was part of the Bradford team that stayed in the Premier League against the odds by beating Liverpool in 2000.
He said: "Football always has twists – over my career, I've been involved in lots of scenarios where you think 'that can't possibly happen.'
"But it does and if we win and Peterborough and Barnsley lose, there's a good chance we will stay up.
"When I was at Bradford, we had to beat Liverpool and that was the only result we needed to go in our favour.
"They had to win to get into the Champions League and David Weatherall scored from a corner, against the odds.
"I don't think anyone gave us a chance beforehand, but it happened."
Saunders added: "It looks like we need Peterborough to get battered.
"But if you look at the front players Palace have, Glenn Murray has scored 30 goals this season and they have got Yannick Bolasie and Kevin Phillips.
"If they get it together – which they need to – it can happen. So there will be some twists and let's hope we're involved in it.
"I don't think there's any pressure on us now – the pressure is on Peterborough and Barnsley."
