Ex-Wolves boss John Barnwell seeking all-clear for reunion
Wolves' 1980 League Cup winning manager John Barnwell is hoping to attend next week's reunion of the Wembley heroes – if he gets the all-clear after a fall.
Barnwell, now 74, collapsed at a Football League managers' pension scheme dinner last week in London and cracked two ribs.
The ex-Molineux chief has undergone a series of tests since but doctors still don't know why he fell.
Now he faces an anxious few days to see if he can get the approval to attend the event on Friday at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill.
It will be the first time Wolves' last major trophy-winning players and management have been re-united since they left Molineux. The reunion will be 33 years to the day since they beat European champions Nottingham Forest at Wembley on March 15, 1980.
"I've had full brain and body scans and I'm a bit immobilised at the moment," said Barnwell. "I'd be very disappointed if I can't attend because it's a really overdue get-together."
